Shinn Named To 2006 NGCA All-American Scholar Team

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami senior Josie Shinn (Pinehurst, N.C.) has been selected to the 2005-06 All-American Scholar team by the National Golf Coaches Association.

To be eligible a student-athlete must carry a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and must have competed in at least 50% of her team’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.

Shinn, who is majoring in Sociology, played in eight of nine tournament last season recording a team-high six top-20 finishes, including three top-10 results. In addition, she led the team with a 76.00 stroke average.

This marks the second academic honor for Shinn this season. Earlier this year, she was named to the 2006 All-ACC Academic golf team.
