Faluade Fourth In Triple Jump At USA Championships

Indianapolis, Ind. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami All-American Brenda Faluade (Katy, Texas) finished fourth in the triple jump at the 2006 AT&T USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Indianapolis, Ind.
Faluade, who will be entering her senior season at Miami, recorded a jump of 13.31 meters (43-08.00). Her mark was the second best by a collegian at the USA Championships and earned her a spot on the United States team that will compete at the NACAC Under-23 Championships, July 7-9, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Faluade will also be competing in the long jump on Saturday.
Former Hurricane Dominique Darden (Harrisburg, Pa.) finished second in her preliminary heat of the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 56.36 seconds to advance to Saturday’s semifinal.
In the 100-meters, former Hurricane and reigning World Champion Lauryn Williams finished second with a time of 11.17 seconds.
At the USA Junior Track and Field Championships, also being held in Indianapolis, Miami All-American Ena Leufroy (Atlanta, Ga.) finished eighth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:14.62.
