Leufroy Advances At USA Junior Championships

Indianapolis, Ind. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami All-American Ena Leufroy (Atlanta, Ga.) finished second in her preliminary heat of the 800-meters to advance to Friday’s final at the 2006 USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Indianapolis, Ind.

Leufroy, who was a member of the Miami 4×400-meter relay that placed second at the NCAA Championships, finished in a time of 2:09.68, the seventh fastest time of the preliminary round.

The 800-meter final is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. (ET).

One current and three former Hurricanes will be starting competition at the 2006 AT&T USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships also being held in Indianapolis. Senior All-American Brenda Faluade (Katy, Texas) will compete in the triple jump while former Hurricane greats Lauryn Williams (100-meters), Wyllesheia Myrick (100-meters) and Dominique Darden (400-hurdles) will also see action.
