Miami vs. USC NCAA Semifinal Match Postponed Until Monday Morning

STANFORD, <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Calif. – After enduring an early morning rain delay and suspended play midway through singles action, Miami’s NCAA Semifinal match against Southern California has been officially postponed until Monday morning. The match will resume Monday, May 22 at 12:00 p.m. EST.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

 

The Women of Troy held a 1-0 match lead after capturing the doubles point but the Hurricanes won five first sets before the match was halted.

 

The winner of the match advances to the NCAA Championship final against the winner of the day’s other semifinal match against top-seeded Stanford and fourth-seeded Florida that was also pushed back to Monday morning. Florida and Stanford will square-off Monday at 2:00 p.m. EST.

 

The team final, which was slated for Monday night at 9:30 p.m. EST, was likewise pushed back a day. Tuesday’s schedule, including both men’s and women’s team finals, as well as women’s individual competition will be determined by the NCAA Committee at a later time following a meeting with coaches, tournament officials and ESPN.
