Harris, Leggett Win Titles on Final Day of ACC Championships

Winston-Salem, N.C. (hurricanesports.com), – The University of Miami men’s and track and field team completed competition at the ACC Championships. Tim Harris won the 800 meter dash by over one and a half seconds and Lance Leggett took first place in the 400 meter hurldes, and second place in the 110 meter hurdles.
Harris’ mark of 1:49.58 was an NCAA regional mark. He led the field the entire way never being challenged on his way to the title. Leggett’s mark of 13.79 in the 110 hurdles and 51.83 in the 400 hurdles were both season best marks and NCAA regional marks. Leggett finished just .01 behind the winner in the 110 hurdles.
The 4×100 meter relay team of Andrew Johnson, Roland DaSilva, Khalil Jones and Lance Leggett won the first heat of the 4×1 in 40.83, the time is the fastest of the season for the Hurricanes. The time was good enough for third place.
Casey McGinn jumped 4.70m in the pole vault, landing him in sixth place in the event.
The Hurricanes finished in ninth place scoring 39 points. The winners were Florida State scoring 161 points.
