Men's Track and Field Completes Day Two of ACC Championships

Winston-Salem, N.C. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami men’s track and field team completed day two of competition of at the ACC Championships. All-American Tim Harris (Miami, Fla.) won his heat of the 800-meter finishing in 1:50.51. He qualified first in the event.
All-ACC Lance Leggett (Bartow, Fla.) won his heat of the 110 hurdles, in an NCAA regional time of 13.86. The time was the second fastest on the day, and with the victory he automatically qualifies to run in the finals tomorrow. Leggett also ran 400 hurdles finishing second in his heat, running 52.87. He qualified seventh in the event.
Elan Daviglus (Miami, Fla.) finished in sixth place in the high jump with a mark of 1.95m (6-04.75). Daviglus scored the first points for the Hurricanes at the ACC Championships. Andrew Parsons (Glenn Falls, N.Y.) improved his standing from yesterday in the decathalon, finishing in 9th place, completing his first decathon. He scored 5845 points in the event.
The Hurricanes stand in 11th place after day two of competition, having scored three points. Clemson stands in first place with 51 points, with No. 1 Florida State three points behind.
The Hurricanes finish up competition at the ACC Championships tomorrow afternoon. Field events start at 12:00 pm and the running events–all finals–start at 1 pm. Live results can be found on www.flashresults.com and complete results and updates will be found on hurricanesports.com.
