Men's Track and Field Finishes First Day at ACC Championship

Winston-Salem, N.C. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami men’s track and field team completed the first day of competition at the ACC Championships. Andrew Parsons (Glenn Falls, N.Y.), competing in his second decathlon, set personal best time in the 100-meters (11.83) 400-meters (52.09) and threw a personal best 11.36m (37-03.25) to lead him to an 11th place standing after day one scoring 3206 points.
Charles Johnson (Milwaukee, Wisc.) threw 43.60m (143-00) in the hammer throw. He finished in 15th place. Zach Castiglione (Brighton, Mich.) ran 33:18.68 in his first ever 10,000-meters. He finished in 15th place.
Virginia Tech and North Carolina stand in first place after day one with 28 points.
The decathlon concludes tomorrow morning with events starting at 10:30 am. Field events start at 1:00pm and preliminaries start at 3:00 pm. Live results are available at www.flashresults.com and final results will be posted on hurricanesports.com.
