Daviglus, Leggett, Harris Lead UM Men's Track

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – All-American Tim Harris (Miami Booker T. Washington) was the top collegiate finisher in the 800-meters, sophomore Lance Leggett (Bartow, Fla.) was the top collegiate finisher in the 110-hurdles and freshman Elan Daviglus (Miami Northwest Christian Academy) won the high jump to lead the University of Miami men’s track and field team at the Miami Elite Invitational in Coral Gables, Fla. Harris, the ACC Indoor Champion, posted an NCAA Regional qualifying time of 1:49.08 but was edged out at the finish by Moise Joseph (1:49.04), running unattached. Harris earned All-America honors during the indoor season with a 10th-place finish in the 800-meters at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Leggett once again put in an impressive performance in 110-meter hurdles finishing third with an NCAA Regional mark of 13.83 seconds. Leggett was the top collegian finishing behind the 2005 World Champion Ladji Doucoure of France (13.76) and Stephen Jones (13.79), who was running unattached. Daviglus recorded his first career win as a collegian placing first in high jump with an NCAA Regional qualifying mark of 2.10 meters (6-10.75).
Notes: Xavier Carter of LSU ran the fastest time in the world in the 200 (20.13)… Six meet records and eight stadium records were broken on the men’s side this meet.
