(hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami women’s track and field team completed the heptathlon today. Debbie Estime (Miami, FL) finished the event in sixth place scoring 3913 points.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
Estime jumped 4.68m in the long jump, threw the javelin 17.81m and finished the 800 in 2:52.96 on her way to her standing.
The event was won by Jillian Drouin of Syracuse University who scored 4954 points to set a new Hurricane Invitational and Cobb Stadium record in the event.
The Hurricanes compete again tomorrow with a full slate of events. Field events are scheduled to start at 9 am and will run all day. Track events will run start at 2 pm and be completed in the early evening. Results will be posted after the completion of the final event.
