Women's Track and Field Competes at Florida Fast Times Qualifier

(hurricanesports.com) – Members of the University of Miami women’s track and field team competed Thursday afternoon in the University of Florida’s Fast Time’s Qualifier. The meet was a chance for athletes to post NCAA qualifying marks.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
Dominique Darden ran the 400 meters in 53.04, provisionally qualifying her for the NCAA Indoor Championships.
In the long jump, Brenda Faluade jumped 6.18m (20-03.50) in her first jump. Amy Seward jumped 6.15m (20-02.25) and Chinela Davis jumped 5.57m (18-03.25). Seward’s and Faluade marks were both NCAA provisional standards.
In the shot put Khadija Talley threw 14.04m (46-00.75) in her second throw.
Pavi’Elle James ran 7.69 in the 55 meter Hurdles. India Ransom ran 7.05 in the 55 meter dash and Davis ran 7.08 in the same event.
The Hurricanes compete next at the NCAA Championships on March 10-11, in Fayetteville, Ark.
