D'Agord Ranked Eighth, Cohen 18th in Latest ITA Rankings

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Junior Luigi D’Agord is ranked No. 8 and junior Josh Cohen is No. 18 nationally in singles in the latest Fila/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings released today.
D’Agord, who has posted an overall record of 18-4 with 10 wins over nationally ranked opponents, moved up 17 spots from No. 25 since the last rankings released on Jan. 10.
He becomes the highest ranked UM singles player since former Hurricane All-American Todd Widom drew a No. 9 ranking on Jan. 13, 2003.
Cohen moved up an impressive 69 spots from No. 87 behind a 17-3 overall record and a 5-1 mark in dual play.
As a team, the Hurricanes, who are 5-1 this spring with three wins over ranked teams, are ranked 18 nationally, moving up six spots from their previous No. 24 ranking. The No. 18 draw marks the highest a Hurricane team has been ranked by the ITA since the final rankings of the 2001 season when UM finished 11th.
The Hurricanes return to action Sunday, hosting in-state foe South Florida at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center at 12 noon.
