Men's Tennis Takes Part in Southeast Regional Championships

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Members of the University of Miami men’s tennis team will head to Memphis, Tenn. to take part in the ITA Southeast Regional Championships held Thursday through Sunday at The Racquet Club of Memphis.

Seniors John Hoyes, Tim Krebs and Eric Hechtman, junior Josh Cohen and sophomore Vivek Subramanian will all take part in the four-day tournament, one of nine regional tournaments around the country held by the ITA which are the second of three ITA championships events. The finialists in both the singles and double draw from each regional automatically qualify for the ITA Indoor Championships held in November.

Cohen, who is ranked 20th nationally in singles, enters as the tournaments No. 3 seed while Krebs, ranked 62nd, holds one of eight No. 9 seeds and Hechtman, ranked 100th, is one of 16 No. 17 seeds.

Hoyes and Subramanian will play in Thursday’s 32-man qualifying draw beginning at 9 a.m.
