Miami Concludes Second Day at Gator Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Members of the University of Miami men’s tennis team took both doubles matches played against Florida Saturday afternoon in the second day of competition at the 2005 Gator Invitational held at the King Tennis Complex.
The Hurricanes won both doubles matches behind the play of UM senior Tim Krebs and junior P.J. Passalacqua who downed UF’s Vladimir Obradovic and Ryan Sherry, 8-4. Senior Eric Hechtman and sophomore Vivek Subramanian overtook the Gators’ Stefan Tell and Shaun Young, 8-6.
Subramanian won UM’s lone singles match, upending Young, 6-2, 7-6 (5). UF’s 40th-ranked Obradovic downed 62nd-ranked Krebs, 7-6 (2), 6-4 while Tell defeated 100th-ranked Hechtman, 7-5, 6-4.
The Hurricanes will conclude play at the Gator Invitational Sunday against Mississippi State at 10 a.m.
