Berry, Hurricanes Win Sailfish Invitational

West Palm Beach, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – Junior Tom Berry (Stanford, Conn.) recorded his first career victory to lead the University of Miami to the team title at the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish Invitational in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Berry completed the 3.3 mile course in a time of 16:52, out-kicking unattached runner Elliot Mason at the finish.
Miami had six runners finish in the top-10 individually. Two Hurricane freshmen were impressive on Saturday. Eric Miller (Katy, Texas), competing in his first collegiate meet, placed third with a time of 16:55 while Ryan Woodlee (Silver Spring, MD) finished sixth in a time of 17:04.
Rounding out the Hurricane scoring were junior Jon Scheiner (Katy, Texas) who finished eighth (17:15), and junior Zach Castiglione (Brighton, Mich.) who placed ninth (17:18).
Freshman Andrew Carnes (Canton, Ohio) finished 10th with a time of 17:19.
Miami returns to action on Friday, September 9th at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
