Miami Selected As NCAA Regional Host

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — The University of Miami has been selected as one of 16 regional host sites for the 2005 NCAA Division I Baseball Championships. The regional tournament will begin on Friday, June 3 and continue through Monday, June 6 at Mark Light Field.
Miami (38-17-1) will be hosting its 21st NCAA Regional. The Hurricanes have made an NCAA record 33 consecutive regional appearances. UM has advanced to the College World Series 17 of the 20 years it has hosted a regional and hold a 70-11 (.864) record in NCAA Regional play at Mark Light Field.
“I think everyone was confident that we would host the regional,” Head Coach Jim Morris said. “The next step is the toughest. Now we have to win.”
The Hurricanes have won an NCAA-record 11 consecutive regionals under Morris, dating back to his first season in Coral Gables in 1994.

The University of Miami and the ticket office are closed for Memorial Day but normal ticket office hours will resume on Tuesday, May 31. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Call 284-CANES or 1-800-GO-CANES.
All-tournament packages are $45 for general admission and $35 for youths 17 and under and seniors 55 and over. Single day passes for Friday, Saturday and Sunday are $15 for adults and $10 for youths and seniors. If necessary, tickets for Monday’s game are $10 for adults and $8 for youths and seniors.
The 64-team NCAA brackets will be announced on Monday, May 30 at 11:30 am (EDT) and televised on ESPN.
