UM Relay Sets ACC Record

Philadelphia, Pa. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami women’s 4×400-meter relay of senior Wiande Moore (Spring, Texas), sophomore Ginou Etienne (Miami Central), junior Dominique Darden (Harrisburg, Pa.) and junior Charlette Greggs (Miami Northwestern) placed second at Penn Relays with a time of 3:29.27 establishing a new UM and ACC record.

The Hurricanes, who entered the event ranked fourth in the nation, posted the second-fastest time in the nation and the fifth fastest time in the world this year. South Carolina won the Penn Relays title with a nation leading time of 3:28.00. The Gamecock’s time is the second fastest in the world this year.

Miami’s final two legs of Darden (51.5 seconds) and Greggs (51.3 seconds) both posted sub 52-second splits.

In the 100-meter final, junior India Ransom (Largo, Md.) finished second with a time of 11.82 seconds.

The sixth-ranked Hurricanes return to action May 13-14 at the Reebok Invitational in Atlanta, Ga.
