Hurricanes Begin Final Week of Spring Practice
April 5, 2005
Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – The Miami Hurricanes began their fourth and final week of spring practice this afternoon with a long session on the Greentree Practice Fields.
“We did some work on the two-minute drill today,” said head coach Larry Coker, “and we were pretty ragged, to be honest. But we now have had a chance to look at Tyrone Byrd at center and we’re excited about some possibilities there. Somebody has to step up that the center position. We’ve seen some things that are encouraging. Spectacular, no, but we didn’t expect to see spectacular.”
With three practices remaining, Coker added, “We’ve had a good spring. We just need to finish up well.”
The Hurricanes will practice again at 3:20 p.m. on both Wednesday and Friday, prior to the spring game at 12:00 noon Saturday at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
