Hurricanes Finishing Third Week of Spring Practice
April 1, 2005
Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – – The Miami Hurricanes are nearing the end of their third week of spring practice.
“It was our third practice of the week and we got some good things done.,” said head coach Larry Coker. “I thought the guys practiced pretty fast today, and I liked that. You can see that our skill players are pretty good. The quarterbacks are fine, the wideouts, the tight ends are fine. We just have to compete and hopefully get our guys healthy on the offensive line and get some continuity and get better.”
As for the defense, Coker said, “I think we can be pretty dominant. We’re running around and making a lot of plays.”
Sophomore safety Anthony Reddick had a very good practice, making two key interceptions. “He’s good. He’s really a special player. He’s going to be a very talented player. He had a god year as a true freshman last year. He just has a knack of making plays. You lose a playmaker like Antrel Rolle, and it’s good to see a player like Anthony Reddick start to emerge as that type of playmaker.”
SATURDAY PRACTICE AT COBB STADIUM ON UM CAMPUS: On Saturday, the Hurricanes will practice at 9:50 a.m. at Cobb Stadium, the soccer field that is just south of the Hecht Center. The practice, which is open to the public, will include some scrimmage elements.
