Bradley Earns Third ACC Performer of the Week Honor

CORAL GABLES, <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Fla. – University of Miami senior Megan Bradley was selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Performer of the Week for the third time this season after leading the Hurricanes to a 2-0 record this past week, including a league win against NC State. <?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
Bradley posted a 6-3, 6-1 straight set win over South Florida’s Neyssa Etienne at the number one singles flight. In doubles action, Bradley and sophomore Audrey Banada downed the Bulls’ Etienne and Gabriela Duch, ranked 52nd nationally, 8-3. The pair of victories led the Hurricanes to the 6-1 win over South Florida.
In Miami’s 7-0 win over NC State, Bradley dropped just three games in posting a 6-1, 6-2 win over Barbara Orlay. The Columbia, Mo. native paired with Banada at the top doubles flight to register an 8-2 win over Orlay and Elin Stahl Johansson.
Bradley, the country’s No. 1 ranked player, has won an astounding 30-straight singles matches en route to a 35-1 overall record.
The Hurricanes (15-2, 6-0 ACC) are back in action this weekend as they travel to face Duke and Wake Forest on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
