Men's Cross Country Earns All-Academic Distinction

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami men’s cross country team has earned All-Academic Distinction by the United States Cross Country Coaches Association for the second time in the last three seasons.

The Hurricanes recorded a team GPA of 3.50 during the 2004 fall semester which ranked second in the nation. Southern Utah ranked No. 1 in the nation with a 3.58 GPA. Miami and Virginia (3.01 GPA) were the only two ACC schools to earn All-Academic honors.

The men’s cross country team included Richard Bernard (Charlotte, NC), Thomas Berry (Stamford, CT), William Bludgus (Bayonne, NJ), Alex Brutvan (Boca Raton, FL), Zachery Castiglione (Brighton, MI), Joey Harper (Tallahassee, FL), Seth Kampf (Ellicott City, MD), James Mullaly (Ellicott City, MD), and Jonathan Scheiner (Katy, TX).

Miami also earned All-Academic honors following the 2002 cross country season.
