ATLANTA, Ga. – The University of Miami men’s tennis team clinched the double point but could not overcome Georgia Tech in singles, falling 6-1 to the Yellow Jackets Sunday afternoon at the Bill Moore Tennis Center.

The Hurricanes (7-5, 0-4 ACC) captured the doubles point from the Yellow Jackets (7-3, 1-1 ACC) behind sophomore Josh Cohen and junior Eric Hechtmans’ 8-6 win over David North and Marko Rajevac at the No. 1 spot and junior Tim Krebs and freshman Vivek Subramanian’s 8-1 win over Scott Blackmon and Jose Luis Muguruza on the No. 2 court.

The Yellow Jackets bounced back in singles play, sweeping all six courts, including North’s 7-5, 6-2 win over Krebs at No. 1, Muguruza’s 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5) win over Cohen at No. 2 and Rajevac’s 6-2, 6-2 win over Hechtman at No. 3, to win the match, 6-1.

The Hurricanes will return to action Wednesday, March 16 when they travel to Malibu, Calif. to take on Pepperdine.
