SHINN LEADING HURRICANES

PINEHURST, N.C. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami sophomore Josie Shinn (Pinehurst, N.C.) fired an opening round 76 and is in a tie for 11th at the Pinehurst Challenge in Pinehurst, N.C.

The Hurricanes recorded a score of 314 and is fifth-place after one round of competition. East Carolina leads the team competition after an opening round 302. Individually, Maria Kostina (Washington State) recorded an even-par 72 on Sunday to take the first round lead.

Second round action will take place Monday with the final round set for Tuesday.
