Hurricanes Tied for Lead After First Round of the Papa John's Collegiate

MIAMI LAKES, Fla. – Freshman Hagen Weintraub fired a two-under-par score of 70 to sit tied for first atop the leader board as the University of Miami women’s golf team ended the first round of play with a total score of 296 at the Papa John’s Collegiate held at Don Shula’s Golf Resort.
Weintraub shot back-to-back nine’s of 35 and along with East Carolina’s Emelie Lind, who also fired a 70 Sunday, is currently tied for first after the first day of competition and sit three strokes ahead of four players who shot 73’s on the day, including UM sophomore Josie Shinn.
Overall, the Hurricanes are tied with East Carolina after round one as both teams finished with team scores of 296 on the day.
The second round of play at the Papa John’s Collegiate will begin Monday morning.
