Gainesville, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – Freshman Tim Harris (Miami Booker T. Washington) won the 800-meters in a time of 1:51.94 to lead the University of Miami men’s track and field team at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.

Harris, the 2004 USATF Junior National Champion, posted his second fastest time of the season in winning his first collegiate meet title.

Junior Alex Brutvan (Boca Raton, Fla.) posted a school season-best time of 8:35.34 in placing eighth in the 3000-meters, while sophomore Tom Berry (Stanford, Conn.) finished seventh in the mile run with a time of 4:21.91.

The meet is the final tune-up for the Hurricanes prior to the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships, February 18-19, in Chapel Hill, N.C.
