Hurricanes Close out Day Two of the UNC Kitty Harrison Invitational

Chapel Hill, N.C. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team concluded the second day of the UNC-Kitty Harrison Invitational Saturday afternoon in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Hurricanes will finish out the tournament Sunday morning.
Miami’s duo of Melissa Applebaum and Caren Seenauth overtook Duke’s Tory Zawacki and Jackie Carleton 8-3 in doubles play to start the day of competition.
The 121st ranked Applebaum also claimed a win in singles after overtaking Virginia Tech’s Anat Elazari 6-3, 6-2.
Sophomore Emily Mowery followed suit with a win over Virginia Tech’s Felice Lam 6-3, 6-1.
The Hurricanes return to action Sunday morning with doubles play against Washington State at 9:00 am before facing Minnesota in singles play at 10:30 am.
