Hurricanes Open Fall Practice on Friday

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami baseball team will open its 11-day fall baseball schedule on Friday, Nov. 5, at 2:30 p.m. at Mark Light Field.
Head Coach Jim Morris’ Hurricane squad is coming off their ninth trip to the College World Series in the last 11 years with a fifth-place finish this past June in Omaha.
Miami returns four position starters, its top two starting pitchers and its closer from a team that finished 50-13.
The fall slate begins on Friday with a six and a half inning intrasquad game. Fall practice continues through Nov. 20 when the Hurricanes will hold a nine and a half inning intrasquad game at 10 a.m. at ‘The Light’ on Scout Day.
Miami opens the 2005 regular season on Wed., Feb. 1, with cross-town rival Florida International at Mark Light Field. Prior to that, the Hurricanes will welcome back former players for the annual Alumni Game on Saturday, Jan. 29, at 7 p.m.
