Women's Golf 21st After First Round

Greenville, S.C. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami sophomore Josie Shinn (Pinehurst, N.C.) fired an opening round 76 to lead the women’s golf team at the first day of competition at the 34th Annual Lady Paladin Invitational in Greenville, S.C.

Shinn, who is currently tied for 49th, led three Hurricane golfers in the 70’s. Seniors Tina Miller (Miami Archbishop Curley Notre Dame) and Esther Lee (Seoul, South Korea) each posted 77’s on Friday and are tied for 61st.

As a team the Hurricanes shot a first round 313 and are in 21st place. Host Furman fired an opening round 287 and is in first place. The Furman duo of Jenny Suh and Monique Gesualdi both recorded three-under-par 69’s on Friday and are tied for first.

Second round action is scheduled to begin Saturday at 8:20 a.m.
