Hurricane Men Place Fourth At Gator Invitational

Gainesville, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – Junior Alex Brutvan (Boca Raton, Fla.) finished 15th in a time of 26:28.96 to lead the University of Miami men’s cross country team to a fourth-place finish out of 22 teams at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.

Miami, which finished with 135 points, had seven runners place among the top-65 finishers individually.

Sophomore Tom Berry (Stanford, Conn.) placed 32nd finishing the 8000-meter course in a time of 27:13.76. Sophomore Zach Castiglione (Brighton, Mich.) placed 38th (27:29.00) while fellow sophomore Jon Scheiner (Katy, Texas) finished 43rd (27:40.82).

Rounding out the Hurricane scoring was junior James Mullaly (Ellicott City, Md.) who placed 51st in a time of 27:57.54.

The Hurricanes return to action on September 25 at the Pre-ACC Meet in College Park, Md.
