Hurricanes Women's Tennis Opens Fall Season

Coral Gables, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team will open their 2004 fall season at the UF Fall Classic hosted by the University of Florida Friday, Sept. 17 through Sunday, Sept. 20 in Gainesville, Fla.

The Hurricanes will take their eight woman roster to face Kentucky and in state rivals Florida and Florida State in individual matches. Miami players will compete in either singles or doubles.

Five Letterwinners from last season including No. 2 ranked senior Megan Bradley, No. 91 ranked senior Staci Stevens, No. 119 sophomore Audrey Banada, 121 junior Melissa Applebaum and Emily Mowery will be joined by freshman Juliette Mavrolean.

Competition will begin every day at 8:00 am starting Friday with Kentucky in doubles with FSU singles matches to follow. On Saturday the Hurricanes face tournament host Florida in doubles with singles competition against Kentucky to follow. Miami will close out the tournament facing FSU in doubles action and Florida in singles matches to end the day.
