Tipiana Named to Furama Invitational All-Tournament Team

Los Angeles, Calf. – University of Miami senior rightside hitter Valeria Tipiana was named to the Furama Hotel Invitational All-Tournament team that was announced at the end of the two-day tournament hosted by Loyola Marymount University September 10-11th.

The Lima, Peru native recorded 57 kills, 25 of which came in Miami’s 3-1 win over Cincinnati Saturday evening. Tipiana earned a .342 attacking percentage over three matches. She also tallied eight service aces, six assists, 21 digs and 11 total blocks (2 BS, 9 BA).

Tipiana matched a four game career high with her 25 kills against Cincinnati.

The Hurricanes went 1-2 at the Furama Hotel Invitational bringing their overall record to an even 2-2. They return to action on September 17-18th when they travel to New Orleans, La. for the Tulane Tournament where they will face Tulane, SMU and Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
