Clarke Moves Into Olympic 400-Meter Final

Athens, Greece (hurricanesports.com) – Former University of Miami great Davian Clarke finished second in his semifinal heat in a time of 45.27 to advance to final of the 400-meters at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.

Clarke, competing in his third Olympic Games, won two individual NCAA 400-meter titles while competing for UM from 1995-98. He is attempting to win his second Olympic medal. At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta he anchored Jamaica to the bronze medal in the 4×400-meter relay.

Clarke currently ranks ninth in the world in the 400-meters and earlier this season captured the silver medal in the 400-meters and anchored the Jamaican 4×400-meter relay to the gold medal at the 2004 World Indoor Championships.

The 400-meter final is scheduled for August 23 at 2:05 p.m. (ET).
