Baseball Set to Host NCAA Regional at Mark Light Field

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — The top-ranked and top-seeded Miami Hurricanes qualified for their 32nd consecutive postseason appearance, earning a No. 1 seed at the 2004 Coral Gables Regional and a No. 3 national seed.
Miami is ranked No. 1 in both the Collegiate Baseball and NCBWA poll heading into regional play.
Miami will take on St. Bonaventure in the first round on Friday, June 4, at Mark Light Field. The regional also includes second-seeded North Carolina State and third-seeded Florida Atlantic, who will play at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
Miami games can be heard on the radio on WAXY 790 AM, WVUM 90.5 FM and WRHC 1550 AM.
It will mark the first-ever meeting between Miami and St. Bonaventure. The Hurricanes are 18-1 all-time in regional openers at Mark Light Field with their only loss coming in their first-ever regional in 1977. The Bonnies are making their first postseason baseball appearance in school history.
NC State and FAU are also familar regional foes. The Wolfpack came to Coral Gables last season for the Super Regional, losing in two games. This marks the third regional appearance in Coral Gables for Florida Atlantic, who is 0-3 against the Hurricanes in postseason play. J.D. Cockroft threw a complete game, one-hit, 1-0 shutout against the Blue Wave in the second round last season.
Miami is expected to start junior Brandon Camardese. The left-hander is 5-2 on the season with a 3.94 ERA. The Bonnies are 29-20 on the season and qualified for the NCAA tournament with an upset win over Atlantic 10 Conference front-runner Rhode Island. UM is 40-3 all-time against Atlantic 10 opponents.

All-tournament packages are $40 for general admission and $30 for youths 17 and under and seniors 55 and over. Single day passes for Friday and Sunday are $15 for adults and $10 for youths and seniors. Saturday passes are $20 for adults and $15 for youths and seniors.
