Megan Bradley Advances To Quarterfinals

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-University of Miami women’s tennis junior Megan Bradley (Columbia, Mo.) advances to the Quarterfinals of the 2004 NCAA Singles Tennis Championship with a win Wednesday afternoon in Athens, Ga.
With the win Bradley becomes the all-time singles win leader at Miami. She is 36-5 overall, the previous leader was Lise Gregory who went 35-12 during the 1984-85 season.
Bradley seeded No. 6 in the singles bracket beat Jennifer Magley of Florida in straight sets 6-2, 7-5 in the third round of the tournament at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on the University of Georgia campus.
Bradley ranked No. 4 advances to face the No. 1 seed senior Raquel Kops-Jones of California Thursday at 1 p.m. The winner of that match will move forward into the semifinals. The match can be followed live at georgiadogs.com.
Kops-Jones was scheduled to face Barbara Zahnova of BYU in the Round of 16 Wednesday afternoon but Zahnova withdrew from the competition.
Earlier this season, Kops-Jones defeated Bradley, 6-3, 6-3, in the first round of the ITA All-American tournament on Oct. 9, 2003.
Kops-Jones is 31-7 overall this year.
