Miller Advances To US Open Sectionals

Cary, Ill. (hurricanesports.com) – Miami junior Tina Miller (Miami Archbishop Curly Notre Dame) recorded a round of 78 at the US Women’s Open local qualifying tournament in Cary, Illinois to advance to the Section qualifying round which will be held at nine sites from June 14-22.

Miller was the Hurricanes top finisher in six tournaments this season and posted a team-best 75.7 stroke average. She won two tournaments this season and registered six other top ten finishes.

Miller is attempting to become the first Hurricane since Dominique Gagnon in 2001 to qualify for the US Women’s Open.

The US Women’s Open will take place July 1-4 at Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Mass.
