Athens, Ga. (hurricanesports.com) – The 23rd ranked University of Miami women’s tennis team will take on 11th ranked Tulane in its Sweet Sixteen match beginning at noon on Thursday, May 20 at the NCAA Women’s Tennis Championships in Athens, Ga.
This will mark the first meeting between Miami (19-3) and Tulane (27-1) in women’s tennis competition.
Miami, which won its eighth BIG EAST Championship earlier this season, is making its 18th NCAA Championship appearance and its first Sweet Sixteen berth since 1999. The Hurricanes have been led this season by junior Megan Bradley (Columbia, Missouri) who ranks fourth in the nation. Bradley, who was honored as the 2004 BIG EAST Player of the Year, has a 21-1 record in dual matches this season.
Freshman Audrey Banada (North Miami Beach) has also been outstanding this season posting a 20-1 dual match record.
