Camardese pitched his way out of a jam in the fifth inning, after the first two hitters reached base. The left-hander recorded two strikeouts and San Pedro threw his second base runner of the day out at third base.
Jacksonville finally got to Camardese in the sixth inning. After hitting the leadoff batter, Camardese surrendered a home run to Larry Best-Berfet, allowed a single to Orlando Diaz and walked Gordie Gronkowski before left-hander Chiqui Chirino came on in relief.
Chirino induced a ground ball to second base for the second out of the inning and was replaced by right-handed reliever Ricky Orta, who picked Diaz of third base to end the inning and preserve a 3-2 Miami lead.
Orta would pitch a perfect seventh inning before giving way to Alex Blanco in the eighth inning. Blanco gave up a two-run home run to Diaz with two outs after a Best-Berfet double to bring the Dolphins within two runs at 6-4.
UM added an insurance run with a RBI single from Roger Tomas in the eighth inning, scoring Joey Hooft who led of the inning with a single.
