Men's 4x100-Meter Relay Advances

Philadelphia, Pa. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami men’s 4×100-meter relay finished fourth in its preliminary heat to advance to Saturday’s College final at the 2004 Penn Relays being held at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pa.

The team of freshman Devin Hester (Riviera Beach, Fla.), sophomore Darnell Jenkins (Miami Central), sophomore Travarous Bain (Miami Northwestern) and sophomore Akieem Jolla (New Orleans, La.) posted a time of 40.87 seconds.

Late Thursday night Miami senior Matt Mulvaney (South Hadley, Mass.) finished 16th in the 5,000-meters with a BIG EAST qualifying time of 14:47.14. Mulvaney, who’s time was a UM best this season, has now qualified for the BIG EAST Championships in both the 5,000-meters and 10,000-meters.

The BIG EAST Championships will be held May 1-2 in Piscataway, N.J.
