Hurricanes Host American University in Regular Season Finale

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The 51st-ranked University of Miami men’s tennis team will host American University in the final regular season match of the 2004 season Tuesday at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center beginning at 6 p.m.
The Hurricanes (11-7) return to action after more than a full week off from play, falling to then No. 34 Georgia Tech, 5-2 in Atlanta, Ga. in their last outing April 11.
Against the Yellow Jackets, sophomore Colin Purcell (Louisville, Ky.) upset No. 68 Jose Luis Mugurza in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5 in only the second match of his career at the No. 2 position.
American (11-6) enters Tuesday’s match on the heels of a 7-0 victory over Lafayette this past Saturday.
The Hurricanes downed the Eagles, 6-1 last season in Coral Gables in the two school’s only previous meeting.
