Mulvaney Sets School Record In 10,000-Meters

Raleigh, N.C. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami senior Matt Mulvaney (South Hadley, Mass.) broke the school-record in the 10,000-meters and sophomore Alex Brutvan (Boca Raton, Fla.) qualified for the United States Junior Nationals in the 10,000-meters to highlight Friday’s action at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C.

Mulvaney was the top collegiate finisher placing fifth with a time of 30:29.24. His time shattered the old UM record by over 22 seconds. The previous school-record of 30:52.00 was set by Nick Gramsky in 1998.

Brutvan recorded a time of 31:09.85 to qualify for the United States Junior Track and Field Championship, June 24-27, in Buffalo, N.Y.

Both Mulvaney and Brutvan qualified for the BIG EAST Outdoor Track and Field Championships, May 1-2, in Piscataway, N.J.
