EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – University of Miami junior Miguel Velazquez (Mexico City, Mexico) earned All-America honors for the third time of his career with an eighth-place finish (340.10) in the 1-meter springboard at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships being held at the Nassau County Aquatic Center in East Meadow, N.Y.

Velazquez has now earned All-America honors in all three diving events during his UM career. As a freshman in 2002 he earned All-America honors with a fourth-place finish in the 10-meter platform, and last season as a sophomore he earned All-America honors in the 3-meter springboard placing fourth.

Freshman Derek Starks (Mission Viejo, Calif.) finished 19th (274.55).
