Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami announced that University of Miami senior forward Darius Rice will appear at the Miami vs. Penn State baseball game Saturday, March 27th to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Game time is set for 7 pm, with the ceremonial first pitch set for 6:50 pm.

Rice will go down as one of the greatest shooters to ever wear the Orange, Green and White.

A four-year starter at forward for the Hurricanes, he averaged 16.1 points and 5.7 rebounds for his career. A four-time All-BIG EAST selection, Rice started 113 games over his career, more than anyone else in school-history. He ranks among UM’s all-time leaders in several categories including fourth in scoring, second in three-point field goals, second in three-point attempts and fifth in 20-point games.

Rice is just the second Hurricane to lead the team in scoring four consecutive seasons and his 1,060 points in BIG EAST play ranks 19th in the 25 year history of the league. This May, Rice is scheduled to graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance.
