Women's Track Finishes 10th At NCAA Championships

Fayetteville, Ark. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami junior Lauryn Williams (Rochester, Pa.) earned All-America honors in the 60-meters and freshman Tabia Charles (Pickering, Ontario) earned All-America honors in the triple jump to lead the UM women’s track and field team to a 10th place finish at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.

Miami finished with 19 points marking the most points and highest finish in school-history.

Williams finished fifth in the 60-meters with a time of 7.30 seconds earning All-America honors in the event for the third consecutive season. Williams, who also earned All-America honors in the 200-meters on Friday, has now earned seven All-America honors as a Hurricane.

Charles finished fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 13.45 meters (44-01.50) earning All-America honors for the second time in as many days. Charles earned All-America honors with a fourth-place finish in the long jump on Friday. Charles is the first Hurricane jumper to earn All-America honors in two events at the NCAA Championships.

Miami opens its outdoor season on Saturday, March 20th when it hosts the Hurricane Invitational at Cobb Stadium in Coral Gables, Fla.
