Women's Tennis Concludes Fall Play

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The University of Miami women’s tennis team concluded fall play at the fifth annual Midwest Fall Blast hosted by Illinois Sunday afternoon at the Atkins Tennis Center in Champaign, Ill.

The Hurricanes won two-of-three doubles matches against Illinois and three-of-six singles matches versus Virginia.

Freshman Audrey Banada (North Miami Beach, Fla.) improved to 10-1 beating Lauren Bruch 6-2, 6-4.

Seniors Sihem Bennacer (Algiers, Algeria) and Mari Toro (Miami, Fla.) both won their singles matches.

Bennacer defeated Shannon Stough 6-1, 5-7, 5-2, while Toro also won in three sets beating Dora Bechliwanis 7-5, 4-6, 6-0.

The Hurricanes open the spring season Saturday, Jan. 31 hosting FAU at Noon.
