Tina Miller Wins Cougar Invitational

Charleston, SC (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami junior Tina Miller (Miami Archbishop Curley Notre Dame) fired a final round 75 to win the Cougar Classic at Yeamans Hall Golf Club in Charleston, SC.

Miller, who recorded her third career victory, posted a three-round total of 214 (70-69-75) to finish two-under-par for the tournament and win by three strokes over Notre Dame’s Noriko Nakazaki (69-72-76-217). Miller was the only player to shoot under-par for the tournament.

As a team the Hurricanes finished third with a three-round score of 897 (296-293-308). Notre Dame (285-304-300-889) won the team title with Furman (294-300-301-895) finishing second.

Freshman Tiffany Prats (Williston, FL), playing in her first collegiate tournament, was a model of consistency recording three rounds of 76 to finish tied for 21st with a three-round total of 228.

Miami returns to action October 3-5 at the Lady Kat Invitational in Lexington, KY.
