Miller, Hurricanes Lead Cougar Classic

CHARLESTON, SC – University of Miami junior Tina Miller (Miami Archbishop Curley Notre Dame) fired a second-round three-under-par 69 and is in first-place heading into tomorrow’s final round with a two-round total of 139 (70-69) at the Cougar Classic in Charleston, SC.
The Hurricanes fired a two-round total of 589 (296-293) and at 13-over-par is currently tied for first-place with rival Notre Dame. Notre Dame, which led the tournament after round-one, was one of seven teams with players still on the course when play was halted due to darkness. The conclusion of the second round as well as the tournament’s final round will take place Tuesday, September 16.
Miller, the 2003 BIG EAST Champion, is attempting to win her third career tournament. Junior Esther Lee (Mauldin, SC), playing in her first tournament for the University of Miami, is in a tie for fifth after posting a two-round total of 147 (73-74). Freshman Tiffany Prats (Williston, FL), competing in her first collegiate tournament, is in a tie for 26th with a two-round score of 152 (76-76).
