Andrews To Compete At World Championships

Coral Gables, FL (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami junior Dan Andrews (Holiday, FL) will compete in the parathlete 200-meters at the 2003 IAAF World Outdoor Track and Field Championships, August 23-31, in Paris, France.
Last summer Andrews solidified his status as the world’s top parathlete sprinter winning three Gold medals and setting two World records at the IPC Athletics World Championships in Lille, France.
Andrews, who runs with a prosthetic left leg, won Gold medals in the 400-meters, 800-meters and 4×100-meter relay. His winning times in the 800-meters and 4×100-meter relay established new World records. In addition, Andrews set an American record in winning the 400-meters.
Andrews, the Gold medal winner in the 800-meters at the 2000 Paralympic Games in Sydney, Australia, currently ranks No. 1 third in the world in the 400-meters and third in the world in the 200-meters.
