Hurricane 'Feel the Fury' Football Web Banner Wins National Internet Award!
June 3, 2003
Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – – First released last fall, the widely popular “Feel the Fury” advertising campaign for the University of Miami Hurricanes football continues to earn accolades for its creators, MARC USA Advertising. On May 20th, the Web Marketing Association (WMA) awarded the agency the 2003 Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) Award for Best General Interest Rich-Media Advertisement.
The winning web banner, conceived by MARC USA Advertising and produced by Sun King Studios, appeared on the hurricanesports.com website with the formidable proclamation: “They’re coming. They’re pumped. And they’re ready to take the nation by storm.” Via the exciting fast cuts of a “highlight reel” from the television spots, the web banner continues the campaign’s theme of a mighty football team with superhuman capabilities: Quarterback Ken Dorsey may or may not originate from outer space. And Larry Coker may or may not have mutant coaching abilities.
The IAC Awards were developed by the Web Marketing Association to honor excellence in the online advertising category, recognize the individuals and organizations responsible, and showcase the award winning Internet advertising. Founded in 1997, the WMA is comprised of Internet marketing, advertising, PR and design professionals who help set a high standard for Internet marketing and corporate web development.
MARC USA Advertising is a national agency with full-service offices in Chicago, Dallas, Indianapolis, Miami, Orlando and Pittsburgh.
