*Tonight’s victory improved Miami’s record in Regional play (including Regionals/Super Regionals) to 69-10 at Mark Light Field. The Hurricanes are now 94-31 overall in Regional play (including Regionals/Super Regionals).
*Tonight’s Miami victory improved the Hurricanes to 18-1 in regional home openers. The Hurricanes now have 17 straight wins in home regional openers and improved to 26-6 in regional openers overall.
*Miami’s last loss in a regional opener was in 1996 to Sam Houston State (5-4) in the Austin (Texas) Regional at Disch-Falk Field.
*The two hit-by-pitches by Gabby Sanchez ties a Miami post-season record set by Kevin Brown against Clemson on June 1, 2001.
*Ryan Braun’s four hits are a career high.
*Miami will be the designated home team against Florida Atlantic in the winner’s bracket on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. and Bethune-Cookman will be the designated home team against Florida in the noon game on Saturday.
*The noon game between Florida and Bethune-Cookman will be televised live on the Sunshine Network.
