Coral Gables, FL (hurricanesports.com) – The NCAA announced today the pairings for the 2003 NCAA Baseball Regional at Coral Gables hosted by the University of Miami, May 30-June 1, at Mark Light Field.
The Miami Hurricanes (39-14-1), the No. 8 national seed and top seed in the regional, will open against fourth seeded Bethune-Cookman (30-26) on Friday at 7:00 p.m. Bethune-Cookman earned an automatic bid as the MEAC tournament champion. Second-seeded Florida Atlantic (46-14) will face third-seeded Florida (34-19-1) in the regional opener on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
Miami is hosting its 19th NCAA Regional and is making its NCAA-record 31st consecutive NCAA regional appearance. The Hurricanes have advanced to the College World Series 15 of the 18 years they have hosted a regional and hold a 68-10 (.872) record in postseason play at Mark Light Field. Miami is currently riding a 16-game postseason winning streak at Mark Light Field dating back to the 1998 Atlantic I Regional.
Tickets to the Coral Gables Regional may be purchased online at hurricanesports.com. The Hurricane Ticket Office will be closed for Memorial Day, Monday, May 26. Regular ticket office hours will resume on Tuesday, May 27. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 284-CANES or 1-800-GO-CANES.
All-tournament packages are $40 for general admission and $30 for youths 17 and under and seniors 55 and over. Single day passes for Friday and Sunday are $15 for adults and $10 for youths and seniors. Saturday day passes are $20 for adults and $15 for youths and seniors.
