Megan Bradley Named MVP Of The BIG EAST Tournament

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-Sophomore Megan Bradley (Columbia, Mo.) was named the 2003 BIG EAST Most Outstanding Tournament player announced Wednesday by the conference.
Miami also landed three players on the All-Tournament singles team and one doubles pair to the All-Tournament doubles team, voted on by 14 women’s coaches of the league.
Bradley along with Melissa Applebaum (Coral Gables, Fla.) and Mari Toro (Miami, Fla.) were named to the six-member All-Tournament Team.
Bradley and Melissa Applebaum were also named to the All-Tournament team in doubles.
Bradley earned Most Outstanding Player by helping the Hurricanes to a second-place finish at the BIG EAST Championship.
The sophomore won both of her matches at No. 1 singles and is ranked 79th nationally.
She beat Kristin Stubbs of Virginia Tech in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 before knocking off No. 40 Caylan Leslie of Notre Dame 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 at No. 1 singles.
Applebaum beat Carolyn Kramer of Virginia Tech 6-0, 6-3. Toro beat Elissa Kinard of VT 6-3, 6-3, before beating Kristina Stastny of ND 6-3, 7-6 (2).
